Ordering online? Should I trust live inventory?

A common question or statement we receive from customers is “Your website said it was in-stock”, what our site actually states is “Usually in stock”. Since we carry such a wide variety of manufacturers lines in every finish and style, (Over 80,000 different products at last count.) it would be very difficult to represent the actual live stock on our website.
The pitfalls of using a computer system to represent live inventory on our system are just too great. One of my competitors efaucets.com® customer reviews. efaucets™ is using this system and the poor reviews they received when their system failed by far outweigh the benefits of a “Live Inventory System”. DPO has many different manufactuers and suppliers to combine into one system. If one supplier does not have it we check all available sources to
get you your product.
Instead we have a check stock button which connects to our staff by live chat or by email. Then we (Old School) check stock to get an accurate inventory count.
While it would be nice to have “Live Inventory” on Designer Plumbing Outlet DPO, the old school, in this case is best. Just ask our friendly staff by email or live chat between 8 am to 7 pm (eastern time) and find out if the item is “Really in stock”.
