FIre Fighting Kitchen Faucet wins Design Award

By | Sep 21, 2009

This innovative faucet was designed by two students in the UK, Yusuf Muhammed and Paul Thomas. They recently won a design award for their fire fighting kitchen faucet.

The faucet won the James Dyson Award for their retro-fitted faucet. This faucet, called the automist, is triggered by a smoke detector that beams it’s warning down to the faucet. Then the faucet releases a fire extinguishing mist. The mist douses the flames and cools the room from 250 degrees C to 122 degrees C.

The automist can be installed in your existing kitchen sink.
