The same valve body also excepts 3 different styles of cartridges that can be used depending on your shower style. The choices are 1. Single Function and Pressure Balanced, 2. Dual Function and Pressure Balanced, 3. Dual Function and Thermostatic.
This allows you to use the same valve body for a standard shower to a custom shower. This makes it simple for your installer and less expensive for the homeowner.
