Outside frost free leaking faucet
Hi, I think you may be able to get it slightly cheaper. As far as doing it yourself, if you have experience with soldering copper pipes, then yes you can do it yourself. If not, then do not even attempt it. For those that have experience with soldering copper pipes.
1. Shut off the main water to the house.
2. Turn on the hose bib (Frost Free Faucet) to drain the house water.
3. Open a faucet in the highest level of the home to vent the water and assist the draining.
4. Cut out the frost free faucet with a pair of pipe cutters.
5. Sand the end of the copper pipe and clean the couplings and the inside of the hosebib.
6. Use a small amount of soldering flux on the fittings and the pipes.
7. Attach the new frost free faucet with a coupling and a piece of copper pipe.
8. Heat the bottom of the fitting and then touch the solder to the top of the pipe/fitting joint.
9. Wipe the fitting with a cloth.
10. Let the pipes cool.
11. Turn on the house water and close the faucets and check your work for leaks.
12. Make sure the pipe grades slightly to the outside of the home.
13. Tip. You may get draining drips of water that continue to drip while you are soldering. A old plumbers trick is to use a piece of white bread. Ball it up and put it in the pipe to stop the drips. Also, home centers sell a ball that can be used for the same purpose. The bread and the ball both disolve in the water after the water is back on.

Good Morning Eric. I would like to know how to fix the bathtub spout to allow water to come out of the shower head?
Comments OffCheck out this interesting answer on Yedda
Hi, do you have one now that is not working? If so, then you just need to replace the spout with a new diverter spout. #mce_temp_url#

How do you stop a toilet that runs water about every 15 minutes. (you can hear it).
Comments OffCheck out this interesting answer on Yedda
Hello, you have one of two things going on. Either the float is too high and the water is running into the overflow tube. If so, then their is a screw to adjust the water level. However, since yours is running about only every 15 min., I would replace the flapper in the toilet tank. This is a very inexpensive fix and easy to do. Take off the old rubber flapper and replace with a new one, no tools required.

Where to Purchase Designer Plumbing Products
Comments OffDesigner Plumbing Outlet was created so customer would have an outlet on the internet to purchase designer plumbing at a discount. The big difference from our store and others on the internet is that we are owned by an actual master plumber.
Master Eric Strand’s philosophy is to only hire staff that are plumbing experts. We employ representatives that have at least 2 years experience with plumbing products.
Dealing with an experienced an experienced representative is crucial when purchasing plumbing supplies. There are many factors involved in purchasing plumbing from sizes, to valves and handles needed.
Other sites are owned by computer experts or marketing experts that have have or operate multiple sites. Our competition like plumbersurplus.com owns other sites like a camping & skateboard site with plans to open more niche sites. Some sites, like CSN stores which operate up to 300 stores also sell plumbing. They all have fine sites and similar products. However, there is only one site that is owned and operated by a master plumber.
The other sites are Jacks of all trades, master of none.

Kohler Wisconsin is a great town. We stayed at the American Club owned by Kohler. I was a plumbing contractor at the time and the Kohler Company paid for our trip! They gave us a tour of the Kohler factory and the design center, which is worth the trip. I now sell Kohler products online. Thank you, Kohler

Hello Eric! In a house that has two full bathrooms what would cause the water pressure to be great in one bathroom and lousy in the other?
Comments OffCheck out this interesting answer on Yedda
Hello, most likely a combination of distance away from your main water line and the the pipe size to the bathrooms. My guess is the one with low water pressure is further away from the largest pipe that enters the home. Also, it may be sized down to 1/2" at that bathroom.
If the bathroom pipes are accessible from a attic, basement, or crawlspace, then you could make sure they are fed from the largest pipe.
Also, if your main pressure is below 75 psi, you could increase your pressure in that line and it would increase pressure throughout the home and possibly up the bathroom with the low pressure up to an acceptable range.

My bath tub drain will not hold water. Please Help?
Comments OffCheck out this interesting answer on Yedda
There are several types of bath tub drains. If you have the type has a lever that flips up or down to either hold water or drain the water. Then I would recommend buying the new kit that goes in the drain. This usually comes with a plate and then a long rod connected to a drain plug. When you move the lever up the plug moves up out of the way of the drain. When you move the lever down the plug moves down to block the drain. So, getting the correct distance in the adjustable rod is critical so the drain will drain and stop the water. So buy the kit, hold up the new drain plate, connecting rod, and plug to the tub and estimate the length. Then install the plug down into the drain and attach the plate. Then test it. You may need to take it out to adjust the length up or down.Kohler Drains for an Example
